Getting ready

I thought I should start this journal off with my prep for the trip, or at least what is left. Soon I will be moving the last bits of my life into a public storage locker minus what I need for the next two weeks and my trip. That pretty much means I am leaving out camping gear, some clothes, and my laptop.

I have been anxious and nervous most of the last two weeks and I am sure it will get worse until I step foot on the trail. I know I can make changes along the way, take breaks if something isn't working out but I still can't break the feeling that I am setting up dominos and one wrong placement can cause total failure. Right now that mostly has been concerned with getting my gear squared away. I have been spending money like it is going out of style buying new gear that I hope will serve me well over the next 5 months or so. After my water pipes bust and I lost my gear building studio it has been a mad dash to buy everything I was going to make. I now think I am pretty much done. I have shoes, wind clothes, and shelter on their way.

Hi Tim,
Heard about you from Marjorie Holme, who is one of my patients. :-)
My sister began her A.T. adventure last year on 2.20.06. Some trail names come to mind; mathewski, superman, and red b. say hi to them from "clothespin" if you see them (that is julieann).
have a splendid time; what better way to discover God's creation and learn more about yourself and your purpose in life. God bless cortney-
